Regional Training Center was established in 1986 with the aim to provide the training to the staff of the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO). The Old Complex was constructed at Khanewal Road Multan and Started Functioning in 1988. Later on different facilities were added to meet the requirements of the time. Computer Lab was established in 2001 to provide the training to Officers and Officials regarding IT matters. Computer Lab is equipped with 25 computers which are connected with the main server. Computer Lab and all class rooms also have the facility of multimedia which is used to conduct the trainings using contemporary methods (Slides and visual graphics etc.). RTC is also connected with the Enterprise Resource planning system. The New Building was constructed and started Functioning in 2019. Now this building is being used to conduct the safety trainings and seminars. It is also used to conduct the authority examinations. New GSO Lab was established in 2019 in the new building to provide the better training to the workforce related to GSO and GSC. The Hostel facility was also up-graded in 2019. Presently Hostel constructed at RTC has 16 rooms for the residence of the trainees in addition to a separate TV room. Facility of the three time meals is provided to trainees who use the Hostel facility. RTC provides practical trainings to the workforce of MEPCO for which facilities are available in the form of a well maintained T & P Lab and a well-equipped practical yard where training is provided on live circuit to make training more effective. RTC also has a library where helping material, course books, Islamic and history books are available for the trainees. Course books have been updated recently to facilitate the trainees. Currently 08 Nos. CTC’s are also working under technical control of the RTC MEPCO Multan. Initially, very few courses were run at RTC which kept increasing gradually. During the year 2019 RTC / CTC’s have successfully run 137 courses.
