Pakistan, DISCOs (Distribution Companies) have their electricity efficiency monitored by two main organizations: NEPRA and PITC.
NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority): NEPRA is the regulator for all power companies, including DISCOs. It checks how well each company is reducing electricity losses and improving service. NEPRA sets efficiency standards, conducts audits, and releases annual reports on each DISCO’s performance.
PITC (Power Information Technology Company): PITC collects and analyzes data from each DISCO to monitor things like power losses, faults, and recovery rates. PITC also provides technology solutions that help DISCOs improve their operations and manage data more efficiently.
Together, NEPRA and PITC work to keep DISCOs on track for providing reliable, efficient electricity across Pakistan by helping reduce losses and improve service quality.
